The following is a chronological list of the steps involved to the start of construction and some answers to frequently asked questions.
1) Budget Decide on an overall budget for your project. Factor in the equity in your current home, cash down payments, mortgage qualifications and payment parameters.
2) Home Requirements Determine your needs for your new home, include location, number of bedrooms, bathrooms, and total square feet. Plan ahead for future needs. Buyers tend to build for their client needs and can easily grow out of their new home.
3) Wish List Complete a wish list of any and all features or amenities that you have ever wanted in a home. Include all family members in this "brainstorm" session. After this exhaustive list is completed, then prioritize these items. Remember that some of the items in your list are not as critical as others and will be included as the budget allows.
4) Create a Floor Plan Meet with our designer to create a custom floor plan / blue prints or choose from existing plans. Identify all amenities from your wish list for an accurate cost estimate.
5) Cost Estimate Review detailed cost estimate and make changes as needed to fit the budget.
6) Permanent Financing Visit your mortgage lender with your cost estimates specifications for loan approval. Check our financing page for local mortgage lenders.
7) Begin Construction
